Commercial AC · Lehigh Acres & Lee County

Cool when you're open. Dry when you're not.

Harborstone looks after air conditioning for storefronts, offices, clinics and restaurants across Lee County — the ones open all year, and the ones that sit empty through the summer. Homes too.

Leaving for the summer?

Before you lock up

  • AC on, not off
  • Fan on AUTO
  • Humidity under 60%
Southwest Florida's other season

Half the year, a lot of buildings are empty.

Seasonal restaurants close for the summer. Suites sit between tenants. Snowbird homes are locked up from spring to fall. And in Lee County humidity, a building left with the air conditioning off — or set wrong — can be musty within weeks.

Questions

What Lee County asks us.

Should I turn the AC off when my building or house is empty for the summer?

No. In southwest Florida a closed building with the air conditioning off gets humid quickly, and mould can follow. Leave cooling on at a higher setting, keep the fan on AUTO, and keep indoor humidity below 60 percent.

Why does my empty building smell musty when I come back?

Usually humidity. Either the system was turned off, the fan was left running nonstop, or the drain clogged and the system shut itself off. Each has a fix, and all are easier to prevent before you leave.

What should happen to the AC before a hurricane?

Turn it off at the thermostat and the disconnect before the storm arrives. After the storm, do not restart equipment that has been under water; call to have it checked first.

Do you work on homes?

Yes. Commercial work leads, but we repair, maintain and replace air conditioners and heat pumps in houses across Lehigh Acres, Fort Myers and Cape Coral, including homes that sit empty for part of the year.

Is Harborstone a construction or marine company?

No. Harborstone HVAC Facility Works is a heating, ventilation and air conditioning contractor only.
